MenSpirit places a strong value on social and community-building events, which enhance participation in service and spiritual events. MenSpirit fosters a deepening of friendship among the men of MCC.

When we know each other better, we do more.

MenSpirit events include potluck dinners, game nights, bowling nights, movie nights, and outdoor recreational events. Men from MenSpirit often volunteer for the annual men's retreat and all-church events such as "manning" the gates at the various street festivals.

MenSpirit also participates with WomenSpirit and TranSpirit on various events.

Monthly Potlucks

The potlucks are social activities. They are usually held weekday evenings and begin with socializing and sharing a meal. There is also an update of upcoming events.

Games Nights

We gather for an evening of food, fellowship and friendly competition at an assortment of card and board games. Past themes have included “Post Oscar Blues,” and “Games and Dessert.”

Cultural “Outings”

MenSpirit has sponsored evenings at the theatre—“When Pigs Fly” & “Love’s Labors Lost”—as well as at the San Francisco Ballet and the San Francisco Opera.

White Elephant Holiday Party

Not only is this Holiday Potluck a great evening of community building and holiday cheer, but the gift exchange is a great excuse to get rid of that eyesore artwork or that chachka from your Aunt Betty.

AIDS Memorial Grove

MenSpirit and the HIV+ Support Group gather for a day of gardening, fellowship, and reflection as we memorialize those who have been lost to the AIDS pandemic in this life-giving way.

Men's Retreat

A church-sponsored event open to all men of the church. MCCSF men gather each year at the beautiful and remote Saratoga Springs Retreat Center. It is an opportunity to meet other men from the church on a more personal level, and to enhance your spirituality.
